The Simpler Recycling law will help improve recycling requirements in England, saving valuable resources from going to waste and supporting the circular economy. This also seeks to end the confusion over what can be recycled.
From 31st March 2025, all businesses with 10 or more full-time employees and relevant non-domestic premises, such as schools and hospitals must separate their waste streams.
The new requirement will be 4 waste streams for:

The new requirement will be 4 waste streams for:
- Residual (non-recyclable) waste
- Food waste (mixed with garden waste if appropriate)
- Paper and card (subject to flexibility options)
- All other dry mixed recyclable materials (plastic, metal and glass)
